1 In Critical Condition After Single-Vehicle Crash In Lemont: Police
Police said a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and came to rest in a ravine near a creek.
LEMONT, IL — One person was critically injured after a single-vehicle crash at 135th Street and Archer Avenue early Thursday, Lemont Police said in a release.
Police responded to the crash at 2:56 a.m. Thursday. Police said a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and came to rest in a ravine near a creek.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Lemont Police, the Lemont Fire Protection District and the Cook County Sheriff's Department did an extensive search of the area to ensure that no other individuals were involved in the crash. After a thorough investigation and search, police said it was confirmed that there were no additional passengers in the vehicle.
The scene was cleared at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Traffic on 135th Street was also shut down during this time, but has now reopened.
