SSCM Students Celebrate Fall Spirit Week

LEMONT, IL — St. Cyril and Methodius School embraced a week of joy, creativity and intentional choices during its recent Spirit Week this fall, according to a news release from the school.

The school’s “SSCM” 2025/2026 theme — Together — guided daily dress themes and classroom conversations about how simple, positive choices help students grow academically, socially, and spiritually while unifying the student body, the school said.

School officials shared the fall spirit week's themes: Monday invited students to “Set a Bright Future” by wearing bright colors and thinking about the hopes they hold for the year. Tuesday’s “Show Your School Spirit” encouraged students to display their SSCM pride, while Wednesday’s cozy “Chase Your Dreams” pajama day reminded children that big goals begin with imagination and rest. On Thursday — the week’s central message — students dressed in college- and career-themed outfits for “Make Good Choices,” a day devoted to discussing how responsible decisions, planning, and persistence open doors for future success. The week wrapped up with a festive Halloween and Trunk or Treat.

Classroom activities ranged from goal-setting exercises for older students to kindness challenges and gratitude reflections in the lower grades, all designed to make the connection between daily habits and a flourishing life.

Student Council moderator, Denise Coules, reflected on the week’s purpose, and said, “Spirit Week is more than a parade of outfits — it’s a week when our whole school practices what it means to choose well. Whether students pick a friendly word, show persistence on a math problem, or imagine their future careers, those choices add up. We want every student to know they can shape a bright future through the decisions they make today.”
