1 Injured In Crash On I-55 Near Cass Avenue: Police

LEMONT, IL — One person was injured in a crash on Wednesday morning on Interstate 55 northbound south of Cass Avenue, Illinois State Police said.

The two-vehicle crash happened at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The two vehicles were traveling in the left lane, when the front end of one vehicle struck the rear end of another.

One person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The left lanes of I-55 northbound were closed temporarily, but reopened at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Another crash, involving a tractor-trailer, happened Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. at I-55 and Lemont Road, which backed up traffic to Romeoville, police said.
