4 Inches Of Lake Effect Snow Possible For Cook County

The weather service has issued a winter storm watch from midnight through Friday morning for Cook County.

ILLINOIS — Heavy lake effect snow is possible for Cook County late Thursday through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Total snow accumulations of two to four inches is likely, and localized snow accumulations of six inches or more is possible near the lakeshore.

The weather service has issued a winter storm watch from midnight through Friday morning for Cook County, including Chicago, Cicero, Oak Lawn, Oak Park, La Grange, Oak Forest, Calumet City, Lemont, Orland Park and Park Forest.

Temperatures will also be quite cold once again on Friday, with a high of 20 during the day and a low of minus 5 on Friday night, according to the weather service.
