
Lonita A. ("Nita") Weber, a life-long resident of Lemont, passed away May 7, 2013, at Lemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a courageous battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
She was born on July 15, 1943, to John F. and Velma A. Weber who preceded her in death. Nita is survived by three brothers, Donald E. (Mary Jo), Ronald A. (Janet) and Robert (Patricia); four nieces, Kimberly Weber, Tracy (Richard) Plesek, Diane (Kirk) Stallings and Lisa (Bruce) Pap; and a nephew, Jason Weber. She is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews. Preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nita was a graduate of Lemont High School and was well known for her love of bowling. She retired in 2010 having been employed by the security firm that worked for Citgo Refinery. In recent years she became a serious sports fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 E. Illinois Street, Lemont, IL, with funeral services on Thursday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.
