LEMONT, IL â A long-time fixture in downtown Lemont, the Centennial Building, is undergoing major renovations.
The building, at 116 Main St., has long been vacant, and will be turned into a "vibrant, mixed-use space," Economic and Community Development Director Jason Berry told Patch. Renovations are being done by Solux Development.
"The project will introduce first-floor commercial space, four residential units on the second floor, and an additional office facing Illinois Street," Berry said. "The site also includes off-street parking for tenants and visitors."

Some of the upgrades for the building will include a revamped facade with larger windows, new entryways, and a decorative parapet which will help the building complement the rest of downtown Lemont.
"Positioned at the corner of Illinois Street and the Lemont Road bridge, itâs in a prime gateway location, and weâre excited to see it become a new hub for businesses and residents," Berry said.
