Cindy Kelly Named New District 113A School Board President
The newly seated board of education voted unanimously Tuesday to make Kelly the new president, Dave Molitor the vice president and newcomer Patrick Kerrigan secretary.

The newly seated Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to make Cindy Kelly its new president for the upcoming year.
Kelly, who has served as board secretary for the past two years, replaces Dave Molitor, who was also up for the position. Molitor was named vice president and newcomer Patrick Kerrigan was named secretary.
Kelly was nominated by board member Mike Aurelio, but submitted Molitor as her pick. Molitor delivered a short speech about his capabilities as president and said he hoped to serve another year, but he ultimately voted for Kelly after she had already received votes from the other five board members.

After the meeting, Kelly said she was surprised and flattered to be the new board president.
"I'm really honored, and look forward to serving the board," Kelly said. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for everyone, and I'm excited and hopeful about the next year."
Prior to the officer elections, District 113A seated three new board members—Kerrigan, Deitemyer and Brian Bushnell—all of whom were sworn in for four-year terms. They replace outgoing board members Lisa Wright, Kevin Doherty and Karen Siston, who did not seek re-election.
