Commercial Vehicle Fire Restricts Lanes On I-355 Near Lemont: Police

LEMONT, IL — A vehicle on fire has caused lane restrictions that are still in place on Interstate 355 southbound on Wednesday afternoon, according to Illinois State Police.

Police said they are still on the scene of a commercial vehicle fire that happened on I-355 southbound near milepost 8 near Lemont.

The fire happened at 12:56 p.m. Wednesday, and lane restrictions remain in effect as of 4 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported, police said.

Police did not immediately provide any reason for the fire or how it started.
