D113A Names Michelle Nevin Educator Of The Year

Nevin has been a teacher at Old Quarry Middle School since 2000.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A has announced Michelle Nevin as the 2025 Educator of the Year, honoring her 26 years of dedication, leadership, and service to the students, staff, and families of District 113A, the district shared in a news release.

Since joining the district in 2000, Michelle has made an extraordinary impact as a middle school social studies teacher at Old Quarry Middle School, where "her passion for teaching and unwavering commitment to student success shine in every lesson," the District sad.

Michelle also serves as the District 113A Union President for certified and support staff, and throughout her career, she has gone far beyond the classroom—coaching girls’ basketball and track and field, sponsoring student council, and serving as a Team Leader at Old Quarry, where she supports staff development and drives school improvement efforts, according to the district.

Outside the District, Michelle serves on the Board of Directors for Hope and Friendship, and as an officer with the AFT Local 604, embodying service and community leadership.

“Michelle is one of those educators you can always count on,” said Dr. Joseph Sweeney, Principal of Old Quarry Middle School. “Her professionalism, care for students, and dedication to her colleagues make her an invaluable part of our school and district family.”
