LEMONT, IL — The Forge: Lemont Quarries will host its annual Earth Day Festival later this month, offering local residents the opportunity to celebrate the planet and discover new ways to make it more sustainable for generations to come.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 22 and will be held at The Forge, which is located at 1001 Main St. in Lemont. There is no admission fee, but organizers are asking for a suggested $5 donation, which will go toward restoration of the facility and community-focused projects in the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area.

The day’s events include a hug-a-tree nature trail, kids activities, Earth Day workshops for all ages, conservation projects, live music and entertainment, food trucks and a fun run and fishing derby (both of which require an additional registration fee) and other family-friendly activities.
