'The Grateful Gathering' Supports Downtown Lemont Businesses, Gives Back To Community

The event's aim is to support small businesses, and also give back during the holiday season.

LEMONT, IL — If you're looking for a fun way to support local businesses in the busy holiday season, you can head out to "The Grateful Gathering," hosted by Allure Skin Studio on Nov. 22 in downtown Lemont.

From 4 to 8 p.m., shoppers can walk around downtown Lemont and visit several participating businesses to enjoy store specials, free tastings, mini demos, raffles and more. The day of the event, the first 20 people to check in on the day of the event will receive an “Allure I Love Me Kit” (self-care kit) and 100 will receive a free tote.

Allure Skin Studio owner Susana Scott said the event will also collect personal care items and pantry goods on-site, and a portion of proceeds will support Hope & Friendship Foundation. Partner locations will also collect for the Lemont Food Pantry.

“Grateful Gathering is about celebrating community—supporting the small businesses that make downtown special while giving back to the neighbors who need us most,” Scott said. “We’re inviting everyone to sip, shop, and share the spirit of gratitude right here in Lemont.”

This is the first year for the event, and Scott told Patch the idea came to her because "I wanted to bring our downtown businesses together for something that celebrates community, gratitude, and giving back during the holiday season."

Scott added that the event also comes from a personal part of her own story, as she grew up with very little.

"I know firsthand how much of a difference even small acts of kindness and support can make. That’s why I feel so strongly about giving back and making this event about more than just shopping; it’s about connection, generosity, and helping others," she told Patch.
