Lane Reductions Will Continue On Lemont Road For July 4th Travel

LEMONT, IL — With the increase of travel for the July 4th holiday, the Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that lanes closed for construction will reopen where possible to help minimize travel disruption. Unfortunately, lane reductions will continue on northbound Lemont Road under Interstate 55.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through these areas, IDOT said in a release.

Drivers should pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and stay alert for workers and equipment, according to IDOT. At all times, drivers should buckle up and drive sober, IDOT said.
