Other LAC teams played hard throughout the season in both leagues and tournaments. The eighth-grade girls Kramer team played in the highly competitive Montini league, while the fifth-grade girls Bercher team and sixth-and seventh-grade girls Gardner teams played in the Neuqua Valley league. The third-grade boys Indested team played up to the fourth-grade level in the Lemont league and competed at several area tournaments.

President Tom Geraghty said, “I am very proud of the success we have had at all levels, and at the expansion of our program this season. Our goal is to introduce, develop, and teach fundamental basketball skills in an enjoyable team environment, and I think we did that this year. I’m looking forward to more growth and continued success in the next season.”

As the club has grown, new practices have been implemented to support the club’s mission to teach teamwork and life skills to help athletes mature and be successful in school, in life and on the court.

Mandatory coach background checks were instituted to assure parents that their children were coached by trustworthy adults. Signed code of conduct forms were required of all players, parents, and coaches to ensure participants demonstrated good sportsmanship and respect. The club’s website was enhanced to serve as an information hub for all participants, and an end-of-season participant survey was used to gather input to identify improvements for the future.

LAC would like to thanks its many sponsors for their financial support this past season. They are: Column Technologies, Inc., C&C Millwright Maintenance Company, Wells Fargo, Country Financial, Dunbar Systems, Quarry Fieldhouse, Front Street Cantina, Next Level, Puckerville Farms, DM Foot & Ankle, and McKay Printing Services.

Tryouts for all LAC teams are in the fall. Potential players, coaches and sponsors can get more information by visiting lemontathleticclub.com or calling President Tom Geraghty at 630-660-3843.
