Lemont Awards Contract For Crosswalk At 127th, Rolling Meadows Drive

The Village received seven bids for the project, and approved the low bid from Gallagher Asphalt Corporation for a cost of $122,075.

LEMONT, IL — At its meeting on Monday, the Lemont Village Board approved awarding a contract for a pedestrian crosswalk at the 127th Street crossing at Rolling Meadows Drive.

Public Works Director Ralph Pukula said the crosswalk is going between Briarcliffe Drive and Rolling Meadows Drive.

The Village received seven bids for the project, and approved the low bid from Gallagher Asphalt Corporation for a cost of $122,075.

"This project is going to include some sidewalk extension, some curb and gutter, island in the middle," Pukula said. "It's going to help the people from Briarcliffe and Rolling Meadows get from one subdivision to the other."

The Village received $125,000 in funding from Invest in Cook for the project, so it is fully-funded by Cook County.

The project has been in the works for about six years, Pukula said.
