Lemont Boys Basketball Advances To Sectional Championship

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont High School boys basketball team will play in the sectional championship game on Friday, after defeating Marian in the sectional semi-final.

Earlier this post-season, the team secured its third regional crown in four seasons, defeating Morgan Park, 84-46, according to LHS. On Wednesday, Lemont defeated Marian, 56-54, to earn a berth to the sectional championship.

Next up, Lemont (no. 2 seed) will face no. 1 seed Brother Rice at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The winner of the sectional championship will advance to the super-sectional game, and play against the winner of Metamora vs. Peoria, according to IHSA.

The IHSA Class 3A state final tournament will be held March 13-15 at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
