LEMONT, IL — The Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education has a new member, filling a vacancy left by the resignation of Mike Shackel in June. Kurt Korte, a long-time Lemont resident, was sworn in as a member in a July 15 meeting.

Korte has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, a release from the school district says. His international experience in the field includes his work at Geneva Trading, which operates in Chicago, Singapore and Dublin, as the head trader.

Korte had been a member of the Lemont High School Educational Foundation Board of Directors since 2014, and was the board's president for the last four years.
