Lemont Fire District Open House Planned Saturday

There will be firefighter paramedic demonstrations and displays, and you can check out the fire trucks, engines and ambulances.

LEMONT, IL — To kick off fire prevention week, the Lemont Fire Protection District will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Station No. 1, 15900 New Ave.

There will be firefighter paramedic demonstrations and displays, and you can check out the fire trucks, engines and ambulances. The open house will also feature a K-9 comfort dog, pumpkin decorating, firefighter dress up, mini combat challenge, Sparky the Fire Dog and more.

A ladder truck candy drop will also be a highlight of the event.

This year's fire prevention week campaign is, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!", which strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.
