Lemont Foundation Collects Cards for Boston Marathon First Responders

The Hope and Friendship Foundation is accepting cards, notes and letters of support now through April 28.

A Lemont organization is asking residents to show their support for first responders at the Boston Marathon by writing thank you cards and letters.

The Hope and Friendship Foundation is collecting notes, cards and letters now through April 28 to send to firefighters, police officers, medical staff and the National Guard in Boston.

Hope and Friendship Founder Terri O'Neill said she hopes to show the first responders "an outpouring of support from a compassionate community that they might have never otherwise heard from."
