Lemont Library and Keepataw Day Launch Kids’ Art Contest Celebrating “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”
Ages 8–14 invited to enter; winners lead the parade, and all artists can march with the library on August 31, during Labor Day Weekend.

Lemont’s youngest artists are invited to showcase their creativity in a meaningful way this summer. In a special partnership between the Lemont Public Library and Lemont Keepataw Day, children ages 8 to 14 can participate in a Drawing Contest inspired by this year’s parade theme: “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”
This theme honors the heart of what makes Lemont strong as a community that supports one another. Whether it’s lending a hand, sharing a meal, or simply offering support during tough times, this year’s parade celebrates those everyday moments of kindness and connection.
Four winners will be selected to carry the lead banner in the 73rd Annual Lemont Keepataw Day Parade on Sunday, August 31, during Labor Day weekend. All participants, regardless of whether their artwork is selected, will be invited to walk with the Lemont Public Library’s parade group.
