Lemont Police Department Offers Citizen's Police Academy
The program will start in April 2025.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Police Department will hold a Citizen’s Police Academy this coming spring, the department shared in a news release.
Classes will be held at the department starting in April 2025, and will continue for eight weeks.
The department said the goal of the class is to give citizens a chance to see how the police department operates, and understand and see how officers handle certain situations. Topics covered include DUI enforcement, investigations, K-9s, traffic law, and use of force.

If you're interested in the class, please contact Sergeant Dave Gentile for an application via dgentile@lemont.il.us . A background check will be conducted on each applicant, the department said.
You must live in Lemont, be at least 21, have no felony convictions and have no misdemeanor convictions within the last three years to apply for the citizen's academy.
