Lemont’s Class Of 2025 Includes More Than 60 Illinois State Scholars

The 62 honorees from Lemont's Class of 2025 match the Class of 2019 for the third-highest single-year total in school history, LHS said.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School had 62 students of the Class of 2025 selected as Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, according to a release from the school. Typically, more than 20,000 students from across Illinois are honored with this award each year.

The 62 honorees from Lemont’s Class of 2025 match the Class of 2019 for the third-highest single-year total in school history, LHS said. The Class of 2018 had 83 students earn Illinois State Scholar accolades, while the Class of 2024 had 64.

Illinois State Scholars honorees come from nearly 750 high schools and represent approximately the top 10 percent of the state’s high school seniors, according to a release. Selection is based on SAT or ACT scores and class rank (if applicable) at the end of the student’s junior year. High school guidance counselors work with ISAC to determine the winners.
