Lemont's Graham Pocic Signs Free Agent Deal with Houston Texans
The former Illinois center will head to the Texans training camp this summer after being bypassed in the NFL draft.

Lemont native Graham Pocic is headed to NFL training camp this summer after signing as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans.
Pocic—a 6-foot-7, 310 pound center from the University of Illinois—was bypassed in the annual NFL draft that ended Saturday, but will attend the Texans' rookie camp in hopes of earning a spot on the team.
Pocic was a standout center for Illinois, where he earned All-Big Ten honors and was voted as team captain in 2012. He played in 10 games during his senior year, making eight starts at center and two at right tackle.

Prior to 2012, he started 26 consecutive games at center for the Illini, and led his team to consecutive victories in the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and 2010 Texas Bowl.
While at Lemont, Pocic helped head coach Eric Michaelsen's team to a 29-8 record over his final three seasons (2005-2007). He led the Indians to their first-ever IHSA quarterfinal appearance in 2005, and anchored the squad's offensive line as Lemont finished 11-3 in 2007 and was the IHSA Class 6A runner-up.

Pocic is the third Lemont native in the past year to make a run toward the NFL. Last year, tight end Coby Fleener (Joliet Catholic/Stanford) was the second pick for the Indianadpolic Colts (34th overall), and David Molk (Lemont/Michigan) was the final round pick for the San Diego Chargers.
