Letter to the Editor: Supporting District 113A Candidates Petrarca, Clausen and Bushnell

Lemont Patch is accepting letters to the editor, which will be posted on the site as received.

The following letter was submitted to Patch in support of District 113A school board candidates Susan Petrarca, Brian Bushnell and Michael Clausen, who are running as a slate.

We encourage all political candidates and their supporters to share your views in a letter to the editor. We will post any letters we receive, so long as they are roughly 300 words and adhere to Patch's Terms of Use.

I support the Michael Clausen, Susan Petrarca and Brian Bushnell because of what I have observed over the last two and one half years. Recklessness by a board and administration that, ultimately, could only be bailed out by an over-reaching referendum that succeeded only in polarizing our fine community.  

New blood was installed in 2011 and things have improved. Ricker was dismissed and just this week word came out that District 113A's financial position continues to improve. The three candidates mentioned, that I hope you will vote for, represent a clear continuation of the process of stabilization and progress that District 113A needs. This accomplishment will also greatly lead to the progress that the Lemont community desires as a whole. 

Dietemeyer and Kerrigan have allowed themselves to be aligned with the crowd that brought us the pain of the last five years. That should disqualify them from your vote.  

If you think anything good has happened in the last two years at District 113A , and I do, let's continue it by voting for Michael Clausen, Brian Bushnell and Susan Petrarca.
