LHS Alum Will Play For U.S. Men's Soccer Team In Olympic Games

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School alumnus and professional soccer player Djordje Mihailovic has been named to the U.S. Men's Olympic Team for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Mihailovic, who currently plays as a midfielder for the Colorado Rapids, will head to Paris for the first Olympic appearance for the U.S. men's team since 2008, according to a release from Colorado Rapids.
The team said that Mihailovic has recorded 19 goal contributions this season.

Mihailovic, 25, previously played for the Chicago Fire. The United States is guaranteed at least three games in the tournament, starting on July 24 against France.
The U.S. will then play New Zealand on July 27, and Guinea on July 30.

The opening ceremony will be held on July 26 in Paris.
