New Pool Heaters Installed at Lemont Park District's Centennial Pool
The pool is slated to open to the public June 1, park district officials said.
As part of a green technology update, the Lemont Park District has installed two new outdoor heaters at Centennial Pool.
The heaters were acquired in 2012 and were originally slated to be installed last summer, but the project was delayed as the park district waited for authorization from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
After receiving final approval from the state and Fire Marshall, the Lemont Park District was able to install the heaters last week. Staff will officially start systems back up on May 20, and will run them continually through May 31, the same day as the "Members Only" opening party for Centennial Pool season pass holders.
The pool will open to the public June 1, officials said.
