Railway Improvement Work Planned At Two Downtown Lemont Crossings

LEMONT, IL — Railroad safety improvements will cause railway crossing closures in downtown Lemont this week, the Village of Lemont shared.
The improvements are scheduled, weather permitting, for April 1 and April 2 at the Lemont and Main streets crossing and the Stephen and Main streets crossing.
The work was originally planned for the week of March 24, but was postponed.

The Village said that each crossing will be closed for one day for the work, and one crossing will remain open while work is performed on the other.
Drivers should follow the instructions of local safety officers and construction workers while driving in the area.
