Three Stories Books Celebrates Independent Bookstore Day
In celebration of the day, Three Stories Books will host seven local authors and illustrators from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
LEMONT, IL — A day full of activities is on tap at Three Stories Books in celebration of Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday.
The annual celebration helps support local booksellers, and is usually held on the last Saturday in April.
"Bookstores all over the country celebrate it as a way to shine a spotlight on indie bookstores and all they offer readers," Three Stories Books owner Sommer Steele told Patch. "In a day when many people buy books online, etc., Independent Bookstore Day wants to remind shoppers of the benefit of buying small and local, especially when it comes to books."

"Shopping small literally keeps the doors open to a space that offers book suggestions, fun gifts, a comfortable, inspiring place for kids to explore...not to mention the many events we host," Steele said. "Our grownup book selection is growing too, and we love introducing new and best-selling selections to the adults too!"
Three Stories Books opened in downtown Lemont in 2021.
"There are shockingly few children's bookstores in all of Chicagoland, we are lucky to be one of them," Steele said.
