Will County Forest Preserve to Host Open House on Veterans Memorial Trail
The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lemont Township Community Center.
The Forest Preserve District of Will County will host an open house in Lemont on Tuesday to discuss the Veterans Memorial Trail.
The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lemont Township Community Center, 16300 Alba St.
The proposed Veterans Memorial Trail has two components; the East-West component will run along 135th Street in southern Cook and northern Will counties and will connect the Centennial Trail to the project’s North-South component within the right-of-way of I-355. The North-South component will run from 127th Street in Lemont to Route 6 in New Lenox.

At the meetings, the public can view and discuss the trail’s alignment with Forest Preserve District staff. Participants can also provide public comment regarding the trail.
