63 Tickets Issued During Lake County Traffic Detail
The Lake County Sheriff's Office was out in full force during a St. Patrick's Day safety campaign.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The results are in from a recent holiday traffic enforcement campaign in Lake County.
The Lake County Sherif's Office was out in full force between March 8 and March 18 as part of a St. Patrick's Day traffic safety campaign. During the detail, sheriff's office deputies conducted 55 traffic stops and issued 63 traffic citations.
Of the tickets handed out, 35 drivers received speeding citations, five were cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and three received tickets for failure to wear a seatbelt

Police also handed out 20 citations for various traffic offenses, according to the news release.
The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
