LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Birdy's Coffee House in Libertyville has shut its doors after six years in town.
Birdy's Coffee House owners, Dan Temesy and Maria Mandarino, said the building Birdy's is located in "is more than likely being sold to make way for a condo project," which lead to the closure on Sunday, Feb. 9. In the Facebook message, Temesy and Mandarino thanked the Libertyville community for their "patronage and support" over the years.
"Thank you for your smiles, your loyalty and for sharing your families with us all these years. I think what we will miss most of all is creating a cozy and welcoming environment for the children who have passed through our doors. What a heart warming experience it has been to see them enjoy themselves while here and see them grow in into little humans," according to the Facebook message. "We also feel fortunate to have experienced a whole lot of fun these 6 years. We have drawn strength from the community we all created together, not to mention the friendships forged."
