Winner of Cook Library District’s EPIC QUEST 2011 Announced!

The Cook Memorial Public Library District is pleased to announce that Matthew Olson, a 6th grader at Highland Middle School, is the winner of Epic Quest’s 2011 free iPod Nano!

During Teen Read Week, October 16 – 22, Cook Memorial Public Library District hosted Epic Quest 2011 when students were challenged to master the strange and magical worlds of the Cook Park Library and Aspen Drive Library by retrieving specific items and locating the essential sources of Knowledge necessary to be entered into the drawing for an iPod Nano. Whether for an English assignment, extra credit or just plain fun, 240 teens took on the challenge and learned things about their library that they never knew.

The winner was randomly selected on Monday, October 24 by Library Director Stephen Kershner. “The goal of Epic Quest 2011 was to get students in the library with a fun activity that would help them feel good about using the library and less afraid to ask for assistance,” said Kershner. “With the positive feedback we received from students and parents, I think we succeeded with our goal.”
