Boy, 4, Killed In Lake County Collision
The two-vehicle crash happened Wednesday morning in the area of Sunset Avenue and Kellogg Avenue in Waukegan.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 4-year-old Zion boy was killed Wednesday morning in a collision in Waukegan, authorities said.
The two-vehicle crash happened at about 8:10 a.m. in the area of Sunset Avenue and Kellogg Avenue in Waukegan when a vehicle crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.
Several people were injured in the collision, including a 4-year-old boy who was critically injured. He was in a booster seat at the time of the crash and was taken to the emergency room at Vista Medical Center East where he was pronounced dead, according to the news release.

The boy has been identified as Kaleb Hardge of Zion. Preliminary results from the autopsy show Hardge show the boy died from blunt force injuries suffered as a result of a crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
