Ready for a taste of nostalgia in downtown Libertyville?
MainStreet Libertyville will start the engines on its 11th annual Car Fun on 21 cruise night series May 15.
Held the third Wednesday of each month through September, Car Fun on 21 features vintage cars, live music and food. Opening night in 2012, for example, featured a 1946 Ford "Woodie" station wagon, a 1967 Ford Mustang, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, a 1977 Rolls Royce and many other vehicles.
The cars are displayed on Church Street from 6-9 p.m. Car owners who want to display a car at the event do not need to register but must use the Brainerd Avenue entrance. According to MainStreet Libertyville, volunteers will be available to start directing the cars to parking spots at 5 p.m.
Future Car Fun on 21 events are scheduled for June 19 (vintage fire trucks), July 17, Aug. 21 and Sept. 18.
