D128 Superintendent Search: Interviews Begin For New Superintendent

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Interviews will begin as Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 officials continue their search for a new superintendent.
The district's hired search firm, BWP & Associates, will begin interviews this week with 10 to 12 candidates who most closely matched a leadership profile, which was determined partially through feedback collected in a community survey, according to the Daily Herald. On Jan. 13, BWP will conduct an interview preparation workshop with the school board.
The school board is expected to vote on their superintendent choice during a Feb. 10 or 24 meeting.

District 128 hired Raymond Lechner and Rebecca Nelson to serve as interim superintendents for the 2024-25 school year, according to D128 officials. The hires were made after the school board and former superintendent Denise Herrmann reached a mutual agreement to negotiate the terms of a separation agreement.
Herrmann was placed on administrative leave over the summer. A new superintendent is expected to take the helm min District 128 in July 2025.
