Driver, Preschooler Seriously Injured In Crash In North Chicago
A 3-year-old boy and an adult suffered life-threatening injuries during a rollover crash over the weekend in North Chicago.

A 3-year-old boy and an adult suffered life-threatening injuries during a rollover crash over the weekend in North Chicago. The North Chicago Police Department and North Chicago Fire Department responded around 3:15 a.m. Saturday to Route 41 and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a vehicle crash with injuries.Investigators believe the driver of a 2003 GMC Yukon SUV lost control of the vehicle and hit the center median, causing the vehicle to roll over.North Chicago Interim Community Information Coordinator Jim Moran said that there were four people in the GMC.

All four of the people involved were injured. The driver and a 3-year-old boy suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, Moran said. Paramedics transported the four victims to local hospitals.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was called to assist the North Chicago Police Department with the accident investigation.

The roadway was closed for several hours while crash investigators worked at the scene early Saturday morning.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and North Chicago Police Department.
