Frozen Pipe Bursts, Floods Libertyville Business
Bodyworks Fitness and Spa was flooded after a frozen sprinkler pipe burst Tuesday. No one was injured.

A frozen pipe burst, collapsed parts of the ceiling and flooded Bodyworks Fitness and Spa Tuesday afternoon, according to Libertyville officials.
The 1.5-inch sprinkler pipe, located in the attic, burst and flooded the first and second floors of the facility at 510 First St., with most of the damage on the second floor, according to Assistant Fire Chief Ken Komers.
“There was at least 3 inches of water on the second floor,” Komers said.

“The owner of the business called a restoration business to clean up the rest,” Komers said.

Mike Ditzler, owner of Bodyworks Fitness and Spa, says he expects the burst pipe to cause an inconvenience for two to three weeks. The business still will offer its personal training and spa services as usual.
The flooding ruined the five rooms on the second floor, where spa services were offered.
“We have an extra room on the first floor and will be moving the services there,” Ditzler said. “We will be offering a 20 percent discounts on treatments for people due to the inconvenience.”
Instead of walking directly to the spa rooms as before, clients will now have to walk through the gym.
