Countryside Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Kevin Wodrich told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a fire started near mulch and bushes.
The fire caused minor charring to the outside of the restaurant near the main entrance.
Firefighters checked to see if the fire had spread into the restaurant.
One hose line was deployed as a precaution, Wodrich said.
Smoke was found inside the restaurant but there was no fire.
No one was injured, Wodrich added. It is unknown if the establishment would be temporarily closed.
