MUNDELEIN, IL — Fundraisers have been set up to help out residents displaced when a roof partially collapsed during a storm Tuesday in Mundelein.

The online fundraisers are brining in money to help cover the costs incurred by some of the 59 residents who lost their homes when a 30-foot by 30-foot section of roof at their two-story apartment building at 32 Washington Boulevard was blown off at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Among those struggling to get by are Maria and Manuel Garcia, who were caring for their grandchildren, ages 13 and 17 years old, at the apartment complex. The family of four had to leave a lot of their personal belongings behind following a "heavy water leak" in their unit.
