Here is what you need to know if you receive a voter audit letter:
- If you still live at the address listed: No further action is required
- If the letter is for someone who has moved:
- If you are able to contact the voter, please have them complete the enclosed form or the Authorization to Cancel form and return it to the Clerkâs Office.
- If you cannot contact the voter, please write âReturn to Senderâ on the envelope so the U.S. Postal Service can return it. This will inactivate the voterâs record, which will begin the statutory process of cancelling the record after two federal general elections if not updated.
- If the letter is for someone who is deceased:
- If you have access to a death certificate, please forward a copy to the Clerkâs Office so the record can be cancelled.
- If no record is available, mark the envelope âReturn to Sender.â The record will be inactivated, and the statutory cancellation process will begin.
