Lake Villa Man Sentenced For Gurnee Woman's Heroin Overdose Death
Investigation by Lake Co. Sheriff's Gang Task Force revealed the man was responsible for supplying heroin to the Gurnee woman, report said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Lake Villa man the Lake County Sheriff's Office said was arrested on a warrant in June 2017 on charges stemming from supplying a fatal dose of heroin to a Gurnee woman in March 2017 has been sentenced for several offenses. Glenn Trauthwein, 37, of the 100 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, was sentenced to seven years in an Illinois Department of Corrections facility Thursday by Lake County Circuit Judge Victoria Rossetti, The Chicago Tribune said. The news report said that under a plea deal, Trauthwein pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of a controlled substance relating to the death of 33-year-old Colleen J. Todorovic.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said that on June 15, 2017, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force arrested Trauthwein on charges of drug induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, just over three months after Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded on March 3 to a residence in the 18700 block of West Highfield Drive, unincorporated Gurnee, for a report of an unresponsive woman.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found Todorovic unconscious and not breathing, and deputies determined she was likely suffering an opioid overdose. The sheriff's office said deputies administered Naloxone, while attempting life-saving measures, which were unsuccessful as Todorovic was then pronounced dead.
