Libertyville Awards $103,065 for Pavement Patching

Some 1,875-square-yards of Libertyville pavement and roadways will get rehabilitated thanks to low bids from the .
The village set aside $1 million for the Dymond Road project in its 2011-12 budget. Low bids reduced the final project cost to $850,000, about $150,000 under budget, according to village documents.

“We have three areas that we will be concentrating on concrete patching,” said Libertyville Public Works Director John Heinz.
- An intersection and a cul-de-sac in the Interlaken Ridge area, along St. Williams Drive, just east of Butterfield Road — repairing 375 square yards of concrete and pavement.
- Central portion of the village, around Cranes Boulevard and Austin Avenue — repairing 1,000 square yards of pavement.
- South end of the village, in the area of Florsheim Drive and Artaius Parkway, all the way back to the wastewater treatment plant — repairing 500 square yards of pavement.
Heinz says the area near Florsheim Drive and Artaius Parkway “is one of the most deplorable streets we have.”
