The Ansel Brainerd Cook chapter (ABC) holds monthly genealogy workshops from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. in the lower lever of the Cook Memorial Public Library located at 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville

The Ansel Brainerd Cook chapter is a partner/affiliate organization with the Cook Library. Their genealogy collection consists of over 2000 reference and circulating books. The library also has 10 online genealogy research databases, as well as a FamilySearch affiliate library.

The Cook Library puts out a monthly genealogy newsletter “ins & outs” and includes the DAR workshop dates in the newsletter.

The ABC genealogy meetings are scheduled on Wednesdays; December 3, 2025, February 4, 2026, March 4, 2026, May 6, 2026, June 3, 2026, July 1, 2026, and September 2, 2026; and on Saturdays; November 2, 2025, January 3, 2026, April 4, 2026, and August 1, 2026.

No registration needed, walk ins are welcome. Stop by with your genealogy tree and/or laptop for one-on-one research help.

The ABC chapter has several genealogists ready to help anyone research their family tree. Workshops participants will receive help and learn how to research their ancestry using the DAR database and given additional recommendations for internet research.

The DAR is an all-women lineage service organization that can prove lineal descent to a patriot that supported the American Revolution.
