Libertyville Officials Unsure When Butler Pier will be Repaired

The Butler Lake fishing pier, which was heavily damaged by the April flooding, may not be repaired until after the Fourth of July, reported the Chicago Tribune.

Butler Lake is where hundreds of residents gather for the annual July 4 fireworks, which will go on as planned regardless of when the pier is repaired, according to the Tribune.

The village is seeking to replace the pier with a replica and has applied for federal funds related to flood aid.
