Libertyville's Ansel Brainerd Cook, NSDAR supports Project Linus
Blankets for Project Linus

On Saturday October 18, 2025, fourteen people attended Ansel Brainerd Cook's Project Linus event, at the Lake Villa Library. Seven members, two prospective members and five Kohl’s friends spent a few hours together as we tied knots in prepared fleece completing 28 blankets for Project Linus. Those people that attended the event will now have the distinguished title of being Project Linus Blanketeers!!
Project Linus has chapters in all 50 states. Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children ages 0 to 18 in hospitals, shelter, social service agencies or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big blanket hug.
Since 1995, nationally, over 10,359,234 plus blankets have been delivered.

The Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter, NSDAR , (thanks to member Amy Johnson who was a Project Linus blanketeer) spoke at one of our chapter meetings and we ran with it. We have been a proud supporter of Project Linus' North & Central Chicagoland chapter. Over the past 10 years, we have donated over 1000 fleece blankets. Project Linus North and Central Chicagoland chapter alone has donated over 220,000 blankets.
