LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville's Phillipa Soo has been nominated for an Emmy award for her role as Eliza Hamilton in the Broadway hit Hamilton.

She is among the nominees picked for outstanding supporting actresses in a limited or anthology series or movie. Soo expressed her gratitude for the Emmy nod, which was announced Tuesday, via Twitter.

Soo says her acting debut truly began in her Libertyville home as a child when she would stand on a coffee table in a pink tutu and put on a show for her stuffed animals and her mom, according to the Daily Herald. Soo, who attended Libertyville High from 2005 to 2008, performed in Cats, Oklahoma and Guys and Dolls at the All-State Theater Festival while in high school, according to the Daily Herald.
