'Life-Threatening Injuries' For Motorcyclist Following Sunday Collision In Libertyville

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a collision in Libertyville Sunday evening, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue when the motorcycle, which was driving north on Milwaukee Avenue in the curbside lane, crashed into the SUV, which was leaving the McDonalds at 1330 North Milwaukee Avenue, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department.

The motorcyclist was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries. No one in the SUV was injured, police said.

Crash investigators shut down Milwaukee Avenue and traffic was rerouted following the crash,

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
