Recent H.S. Grad Dies After Being Pulled From Lake In Wisconsin

An 18-year-old Vernon Hills man, who recently graduated from high school, died earlier this week after being pulled unresponsive from a lake in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

The Town of Geneva Police Department said the incident happened around 8 p.m. Sunday.

A 911 call was made for a rescue call near a residence off of South Shore Drive in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

The 911 caller reported an 18-year-old man had been pulled from Como Lake and that he had no pulse and was not breathing, police said. People were performing CPR on the man, identified as Adam Jablonski, 18, of Vernon Hills.

First responders arrived and took over lifesaving efforts.

Jablonski was transported to Mercy Medical Center and later transported to University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital.

Jablonski died on Monday from his injuries sustained, police said.

A GoFundMe account was created by friends of Jablonski, who said that the man died as a result of a swimming accident.

Jablonski was a recent graduate of Vernon Hills High School and was planning on attending the University of Missouri.

“He was a very dear friend and a joyous young man that will be greatly missed. This has left an enormous emotional toll, along with, a huge financial burden on his family,” his friends said in the post.

Over $62,000 has been raised within two days for Jablonski’s family.

Vernon Hills High School Basketball said their community is “devasted” about Jablonski’s death.

“He was a special young man that was full of life and positive vibes on a daily basis. He will [be] greatly missed by so many and our hearts go out to his family. We love you, Adam,” Vernon Hills High School Basketball said on Twitter.
