Lovin Oven Cakery Closing Libertyville Shop

The bakery owners called the decision to not renew their Libertyville lease "very difficult" in a Facebook post.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Lovin Oven Cakery's Libertyville location is closing at the end of June 2019. In a response to people inquiring about "For Rent" signs placed in the windows of the bakery's 355 N. Milwaukee Avenue spot, Lovin Oven's owners Ken and Betty Slove cited not being able to reach a reasonable agreement with their landlord as the reason for not renewing their Libertyville lease, according to a Saturday Facebook post.

The Sloves called the decision to not renew their lease "very difficult," and thanked the community for the outpouring of support over the last 10 years.

Lovin Oven has two other locations in Round Lake and Antioch. In the explanation below, The Sloves said their Libertyville employees will stay at the location until it closes, and have been offered other positions with the bakery business:
