Luxury Dog Boarding Facility Denied Village Approval
Village officials say they do not want the boarding facility in a shopping center due to the noise and potential odor.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Village officials in Libertyville have nixed a proposed luxury dog boarding and daycare facility in a vacant FedEx facility along Butterfield Road due to the noise and odor it could create while being so close to other commercial businesses and residents.
The Daily Herald is reporting K9 Resorts, which is a national chain looking to set up roots in the Chicago area, was recently denied village approval to turn the building at 1405 Butterfield Road into a dog daycare that had chandeliers and reception area mirroring a Ritz-Carlton hotel.
“I encourage you to have a business in Libertyville but in a different place,” said Trustee Kara Macdonald.
