Mainstreet Libertyville Hosts Second Annual Dickens of a Holiday

The Dickens of a Holiday event will feature a Children's Holiday Shoppe, an Annual Victorian Tea, and more.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL - On Saturday, December 3 and December 10, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. downtown Libertyville will be bustling with holiday activities. Each week Santa will be in Cook Park from 10 a.m. – noon and 1 - 3 p.m. What a perfect setting for a holiday photo as the children are whispering their wish list to Santa! New this year! On December 3, while Santa is feeding the reindeer and eating his lunch, Cook Memorial Library will have a holiday story time in Cook Park, near Santa’s sleigh (weather permitting).

The Children’s Holiday Shoppe, located in Petranek’s Pharmacy, 426 N. Milwaukee Avenue, allows children to do their own private shopping. “Elves” will assist with the selection of gifts, which are then wrapped and ready for giving. All gifts are budget friendly and priced at $5 or less.

The elegant Annual Victorian Tea is held at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, which is beautifully dressed for the holidays, on both Saturdays at 11 am. The authentic English tea which includes delicious pastries, tea sandwiches and scones with Devonshire cream is served by hostesses in period costume. The cost is $40 per person.
